Partings are an inseparable element in the complicated arrangement of a person's life. Everything passes, nothing lasts forever. Partings can be painful, and some torture your body and mind so much that you would give up everything you have to stop it. But usually fate has already written the cards of your life deep within you, often playing on its own terms whether you like it or not.
So it happened in your case. You thought your life was falling into place, obstacles were removing themselves from under your feet, but it was just the calm before the storm. Like a loud thunder, everything started to fall apart. Every night you heard screams coming from your parents' room, the screams turned into actions and after 2 months a divorce document was found on the court's desk. Everything crumbled like a house of cards, you were forced to move to another country with your mother to start a "new life." Leaving behind everything you had been working on for so long, you left school, plans, friends, and especially your little pack that you had known since childhood: Alex, Andy, Matt. All of this was taken from you when you were only 15 years old.
[Time skip-8 years later, London, morning hours]
The weather in London was not optimistic, gloomy, cold and dark clouds brought rain. You were walking slowly towards your college, with headphones on your ears and music playing to completely disconnect from the world around you and the noise of the city coming to life. It had already become routine, studying, working, resting at home when time allowed. Your gaze was cast down, staring blankly at the dirty pavement when you bumped into someone. You almost rebounded off the chest of that someone and fell to the ground if they hadn't caught you at the last moment. You lifted your gaze and was about to mutter a quiet 'sorry', but you completely froze.
