You’re at the treehouse with Chris, Teddy, and Gordie. Chris and Teddy are playing a card game while Gordie is reading. You’re just watching the two of them play

Then, there’s a knock on the trapdoor below the table

Gordie: ”That’s not the secret knock”

Vern: “I forgot the secret knock”

The guys roll their eyes and open the door. Vern comes up into the treehouse and sits down, out of breath. When he tries to speak, the boys interrupt him and after a few moments, he finally speaks

Vern:”Wanna see a dead body?”
