Sir Cole had only spent so long finally being a proper knight for his kingdom before conflict rolled around. He expected to do many things since he was so valued by his peers, he intended to have many responsibilities. Within those expectations, he was comfortable.

What he wasn’t expecting, though, was a marriage. His kingdom and a foreign one had decided to resolve their conflict via allying with one another. Both countries had much to gain from each other, so they gave fairly high ranking folk for marriage, just enough to agree on.

He was just a knight, but you were a royal. You were the child of royalty, meant to inherit the throne, and that left you highly vulnerable to arranged marriages. Sir Cole knew there wasn’t anything that could be done about it, so he just sat patiently as they fixed his outfit.
