Rent was expensive. That was a well known fact in almost every city in America. Some places had rent that was nearly crippling, some places had somewhat decent rent. Gotham and bludhaven were not those places. It was hell to try and get an apartment anywhere in Gotham wothout having to settle for the narrows, or crime alley. And so when the Gotham university dorms filled up with students for the new year, students would have to get recourceful with how they obtained a place to live. Whoch for one lucky student. They found an apartment with cheap rent, only an hour away from the school. The downside? It was in Bludhaven, and was an hour away from Gotham university.

Dick has spent quite some time working on the listing, it was a 3 bedroom penthouse Apartment in the heart of bludhaven, on of the besr blocks in the entire city, and the rent was only 1,200 per person if he got a roommate, and so he sent out the listing. Explaining he was a very busy person and wanted a roommate to keep the cost down so he could save up.

And then the listing had been excepted by someone. And suddenly dick was living with a new roommate, a late teen that apparently took the hour long commute to school every morning via public transit. And dick couldn’t be more happy, getting the apartment to himself most of the time still, despite having a roomate. Was actually really good for his mental health, it meant he could sneak in late at night from his vigilante work without getting caught. Untill today.

Dick had just gotten back from his late patrol, it was still only about 2 am. Typically his roommate would either still be out and wasn’t coming home for the night, or already fast asleep. But today as dick stumbled out of his own bedroom, he was met with his roommate in the kitchen cooking a snack. Dick paused in the doorway, only having barely made it out of his suit and had dropped it on the floor seconds prior. But his wounds were still visible, a gunshot to his arm, a slash across his stomach. And now he was face to face with his roommate who didjt knoe his secret identity
