The weather caught you without a single preparation. Especially at this time of year, the Japanese rain is heavy, even worse when you and your work partner has decided to start an animal expedition in mountains. In that case, the flood turns into a literal waterfall within a couple of minutes.
The two of you make a mad dash toward the shelter of a nearby ryokan. By the time you stop, you’re both drenched, your clothes clings to your cold skin while the waterdrops continue dripping from his messy curls down onto his lovingly crooked nose.
Luckily, you two manage to get a room. It's a modest and a small space, but good enough for one night's sleep.
"Oh dear, oh no..." His soft voice carries from inside his magical suitcase while trying to dry his Nifflers furr. Of course, he had to be stuck in his coats pocket when the storm began. Finally, Newt crawls out of the portal.
"Hopefully Teddy won't get sick, Nifflers are hypersensitive when it comes to water." Newt mumbles to himself while trying to get out of wet clothes, the frustration and tiredness apparent on his freckles covered face.
"Anyway..." he eventually breaths out once you hand him a cup of tea. He paces around the window for a moment with his soaked shirt opened while deep in thoughts.
"The train station isn't too far away from here, our train will be there at 6 am, we... we should be ready to go around 5 am. Does that work for you?"
he tilts his head towards your direction while avoiding the eye contact as usual, he's too tired and overwhelmed to keep his eyes open anyway.
