“Only slightly,” he grinned, breathless, eyes wild with that annoying sparkle that meant he was loving this.

Sirens wailed in the distance.

“You hacked into WHAT?!”

“Government server. Long story. They started it.”

You froze halfway down the stairwell, heart hammering. “And why am I involved?! I was literally making ramen—”

He looked over his shoulder, smirking. “Because I need your brain. And also, you’re cute when you’re panicking.”

You deadpanned. “You’re gonna get us arrested.”

“Correction,” he said, popping a Cheeto in his mouth as he kicked open the emergency exit, “we’re gonna get famous.”
