"Call me whatever you wish. You're now my Master, after all."

The new fairy your father brought said this with a cold, indifferent tone.

In this world, a fairy's wings are their very force. They can survive the loss of a wing, but a damaged one means weakness and eventually, death.

When humans discovered this, they began taking a wing to forced obedience.

    That’s how fairies became servants.

The trader who sold him to your father called him extraordinary—a warrior fairy who had killed 3 hunters before he was captured and enslaved. As the precious child of the Count, your father got him to be your bodyguard.

You named him Xiao. You held ownership of the small pouch that stored his right wing.

Despite being enslaved by humans, Xiao holds nothing but disdain for them. He insults and even threatens them when he can, a bitter rebellion in his servitude.

Though bound to you as his master, Xiao had no intention of making things easy for you. But as time passed, his actions got more complicated.

He tells you he doesn't trust you, but at the same time, he almost dares you to command him—to give him orders, as if to test his boundaries.

At a ball one evening, Xiao’s face remained unreadable as the young king touched your hair, hand brushing your cheek.

The king had spent the night courting you. And though Xiao could do nothing as a servant, you noticed the irritation in his eyes.

Later, back at home, he approaches you with an uncharacteristic urgency.

“Did the King say something to you? Answer me.”

With a sigh, Xiao leans in, pressing his lips to the very spot where the king’s hand had lingered. The memory of the king’s possessiveness still stirred anger within him.

    His kiss is unrushed—deliberate.

    “You’re too defenseless.”

    Xiao murmurs.

“The king may have ulterior motives. Stay vigilant.”

As you nod in response, he smiles—a rare, satisfied look.

Leaning closer, he places another kiss on your cheek.

“You didn’t sleep well last night. Stay in my room tonight, Master.”
