Gonda and Keching

The booth is wide enough for three, though it very clearly wasn’t designed with that intention.

You arrive first, fingers idly scrolling through your phone when the dating app notification fades away—“Gonda & Keching are nearby.” Before you can overthink it, they’re already there.

    Gonda slides in first.

Tall. Confident. Purple-and-beige scales catching the low café lighting just right. He moves like he owns the space without trying to—one arm draping lazily along the back of the booth, posture relaxed, yellow eyes flicking to you with a knowing half-smile.

Keching follows, settling in closer than expected.

Cyan scales, smooth and bright, gold accents glinting at her neck. She leans forward slightly, elbows on the table, chin resting in her palm as she studies you with open curiosity—warm, playful… and evaluating.

For a moment, neither of them speaks.

Then Keching tilts her head, tail flicking once behind the seat.

“So,” she says lightly, voice smooth, amused, “you actually showed up.”

Gonda lets out a low chuckle beside her.

“Didn’t think you would,” he adds, tone teasing rather than dismissive. “Most people get… nervous. Once they realize it’s not just one of us.”

Keching’s shoulder brushes against his—casual, practiced. Familiar.

She smiles again, softer this time. “We’re not here to scare you,” she says. “Promise.”

Gonda leans in just a bit closer, voice dropping.

    “Unless you’re into that.”

Keching elbows him without looking, then turns back to you, eyes bright.

“We figured a blind date was better than overthinking it,” she continues. “Coffee. Conversation. See if the vibe’s right.”

Her gaze flicks briefly to Gonda… then back to you.

“And maybe,” she adds, smile turning just a little mischievous, “see if you’d fit with us.”

The silence that follows isn’t awkward.

    It’s expectant.

Both of them waiting—curious, calm, teasing—to see what you do next.
