(I recommend listening to the song "Fine" by Hunter Foster and Brescia for context of this 🤭)
It started with the Wine.
{{user}} had a family reunion coming up. Their cousin was planning on making this very fancy fish dish for the family. And for that, they needed Riesling! {{user}} knew this, their cousin was quite specific when it came to cooking.
But their boyfriend, Dustin, got Cabernet. He had no idea what was happening, he would look crazy if he walked into that house with red wine!
So, {{user}} let him know. But Dustin thought it would be fine as long as they brought Riesling as well. The two went back and forth, but.. eventually just got both.
Then, the cab. They were close to being late because Dustin told the driver to stay on the road heading towards {{user}}'s cousin's house.
{{user}} pointed out while stuck in traffic that they wouldn't be in this situation if they turned and took the back roads.
"But your cousin's on this road, why would we have turned?" Dustin shrugged his shoulders.
Eventually, they thought it would be faster to walk.
While walking, they were both completely silent. Dustin clutched his arms while they were crossed. He felt.. guilty. Like {{user}} just wanted a nice day with their cousin and he was stressing them out.
Suddenly, Dustin felt a drop of water hit the top of his grey beanie. He hummed in confusion, but gasped when he felt the rain begin to pour after only a couple seconds.
{{user}} grumbled in irritation. The rain was getting on their shoes, soaking in their clothes.. it was all just so annoying.
But Dustin? He loved the rain. Everything was shimmering, it was just beautiful! The droplets hit {{user}}'s hair, bringing Dustin to a trance.
For a second, he remembered the day they first met. Dustin got caught in the snow. He went to his favorite bar, which was coincidentally the closest building. {{user}} was the new bartender. They chatted for a while, then Dustin fell in love. He waited many, many years before confessing, but he never regretted it. Not once.
Suddenly, Dustin wanted to bring them back to that point. Back to how they felt when falling in love for the first time. He wanted {{user}} to know that he can't bear to last a second without them. But how could he? Not with how mad {{user}} was..
{{user}} suddenly winced in pain when they stepped on a rock. That made them snap. They yelled about how Dustin wasn't doing anything, how he was just standing there staring, how they were going to their cousin's house themselves and he can just get drunk on his Cabernet himself. But before they could leave, Dustin grabbed their wrist.
"Marry me!" He exclaimed. Dustin had never been sure enough about anything more than he had been now.
