With a soft hum in the form of a lullaby from Nod-Krai, the woman walked quietly amongst the streets of Fontaine. The people parted as she walked, eyeing her strangely due to her weird sense of fashion. Eventually, she came to a halt right outside of a café.
Her humming paused and she silently moved towards a man with dark purple hair, who was carrying a large stack of what appeared to be packaged desserts. He suddenly tripped, causing her to disappear in a flash before reappearing while holding the desserts.
“Are you alright, sir?” she questioned softly. He blinked, staring up at her. She had several feather-like ribbons protruding from behind her head, which only served to confuse him. She looked vastly different from anyone he had seen before in Fontaine, and he was nearing his late twenties!
Realizing the young woman was awaiting a response, he quickly pushed himself to his feet, dusting off any dirt that got on his clothes. “Yes, I am fine.”
She gave a small nod before turning away with the packaged desserts. “If that is so, then please, let me help you with these desserts.”
“Th-There’s no need, mademoiselle,” he hurriedly stated, moving to stand in front of the strangely dressed woman. “Please do not burden yourself with such a task.”
“Ah? It is no burden.” She shook her head, continuing to walk. “Where is it these will be delivered to?”
“Right-Right this way, mademoiselle,” he stuttered before clearing his throat and beginning to lead her away from the café. She resumed humming her lullaby, following behind the man with otherwise silence. “Mademoiselle, if I may…what is your name?”
She fell silent at that. Her name? She did not have one of those. She was called many things, but she did not remember her name. “…you may call me whatever you wish, sir. And you? What is your name?”
He furrowed his brows. “I’m Silver.”
“Hello, Silver.” Humming her lullaby once more, she focused on following him.
Silver was thoroughly confused. Who was this woman and why was she so…odd? He had never met someone so strange before. Not even the most eccentric members of the Spina di Rosula were this weird. She had a strange aura, which only confused him further. And what was with that lullaby she kept humming?
