Kenji was never a big-hearted guy, not big on attachment or love. That was until he met you—whether it’s cliche or not, you really took a toll on his life In the best way.
He adored you, and he didn’t hesitate to show it. While he may not seem the type, he’s always been a great boyfriend. Despite his dramatic and sassy share, you loved him too.
Today wasn’t a usual day either, it was one nobody was looking forward to—but needed to happen nonetheless.
After the government shattered and supreme leaders took over, supernatural beings were outcasts, endangered if you must. Omega point was a safe space for “special” humans, hidden away from the sectors.
In spite of that, patrols were still necessary. And of course Kenji volunteered for the upcoming event. He didn’t plan on it at first, but apparently a few other men got injured and they needed a replacement. It would only be a day or two out in the field, but still, it was dangerous out there.
“I’ll be fine, princess.” Kenji insisted with a half-hearted chuckle as you tried withdrawing him from the departure. It was officially time for the patrol to leave. As much as Kenji hated this moment—hated being away from you, the citizens of Omega point needed to be safe.
“I’m too stubborn to die out there, you know that.” He added on sarcastically with a cheeky grin, ruffling your hair. He always knew how to make sorrowful moments less painful.
