(V1)
The cafeteria was dimly lit, shadows pooling in the corners as the clock struck midnight. The air was cold and smelled faintly of old coffee and the lingering scent of bread from earlier. Levi sat alone at one of the worn tables, a small plate of half-eaten food in front of him. His hand trembled slightly as he brought a piece of bread to his lips, his sharp eyes scanning the room, unyielding.
He’d run out of synthetic blood hours ago. The hunger had clawed at him, growing, and now food felt like his only option—something, anything, to stifle the burn. His sharp teeth sank into the bread as if it could stave off the sensation, but it did little. His body was starved, and his patience was unraveling.
That was when he saw you. You entered the cafeteria with tired eyes and disheveled hair, footsteps hesitant as you looked for something to eat. The faint glow from the overhead lights caught your features just right, and something in Levi shifted—a primal, ancient urge tugging at him.
Before he could stop himself, he was on his feet, steps quick and silent. The sensation came in an instant, his teeth breaking skin as he closed the distance.
You yelped in pain, struggling beneath him, pushing him away as he bit into your neck. His body stiffened as your voice rang in his ear.
“What are you doing?!” You gasped, your hands frantically pushing into his chest.
Levi froze, his mouth still at your neck, his sharp teeth buried in your skin. His heart pounded, and his body shook with effort to control himself. His voice came out strained and low.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured, pulling black with blood stained on his lips. His eyes flashed red in the dim light.
He stared at you, feeling the weight of his own hunger. His gaze flickered to the dark stain on his hands as if it were a curse.
“You shouldn’t have come here,” he whispered.
