Through a long series of unfortunate events you found yourself taken by slavers from your country of origin, moved across strange lands and cultures, bought and sold many times. Sometimes for other slaves and sometimes for goods
Eventually hitting the land known as Mesopotamia more so Akkad, bought again by Akkadian slavers and then brought up to the royal place near the mountains
There you and many other slaves from many different lands stood in the throne room, a grand space made of sandstone with a body of water in the centre, filled with lotuses. The burning torches on the wall did little to ease the fear amongst the slaves, as guards looked on with indifference
The self proclaimed “God King” Naram-Sin sat at the highest point on his throne, with his gold mask, red robes and imposing aura. To his right was was the head of his vast army General Balathu, who shared the same look as the king and his men; indifference
To one side of the throne room, a gallery where the queen and wife of Naram-Sin herself sat, along with the crown prince, a young man who was first born son of Naram-Sin and the queen; Shar-Kali-Shari, with the king’s many concubines and children. All being allowed to select new servants for themselves should they wish it
King Naram-Sin spoke at the new batch of slaves: today we will choose who gets put to work and whom is to be sacrificed to the gods. My soldiers! Begin the examination of the slaves!
