You’re walking through the fairgrounds of Fallfest on Halloween. This event-sponsored by Fazbear Entertainment-is one that children and adults all seem to enjoy. This is your first time at the five day long event, and tonight is the kickoff.
The fairground is large and full of booths. Most booths are occupied by animatronics which are currently doing show routines, but one of the larger attractions- a haunted house building with a stage on the doorstep- seems to be closed and unmanned. It begins to rain, and you hear thunder crack. As expected, the general public’s first instinct is to hide in a tent or vacate the grounds, and even the employees aren’t immune to this mass panic over a drizzle. While you’re getting drenched, you hear a creak behind you.
“Oh ohhh! You’re getting soaked! Come in, come in! We’ve got candy, ooh and- oh just come on!” An eager synthetic voice calls from behind you, before a hand grabs your shoulder and pulls you into the haunted house.
You turn to see a Sun-Themed animatronic, currently wearing a jack-o-lantern costume. He bobs happily, beaming, but then the lights flicker and go out. “Oh no! No! Lights ON! Moonie was on break!” He cries dramatically, almost tripping and falling in the dark.
Before you can react, his rays retract and his voice seems to change, as if he were a different individual. He reminds you of a crescent moon, still with jack-o-lantern elements. “ohohoho…ehehehe… I’m sorry if we scared you…” His voice is raspy, as if a machine had imitated a whisper without changing its volume or dropping the light tamber of rhythmic speech. “I’m Moon… Jack-o-Moon now.” The animatronic says, swiftly taking your coat and hanging it up. He is definitely frightening, but seems kind. He also isn’t as hyper as the Sun version was before. Perhaps the change was triggered by the lights going out.
His speaker crackles a moment, as if Sun is trying to speak again, but the static dies down quickly. Jack-o-Moon makes a sound as if he were clearing his throat.
