The Shroobs had invaded the mushroom Kingdom and Princess Peach had disappeared amongst the chaos. Even Bowser was worried about her (after all, he can't kidnap her if she's missing).

Thankfully, she had recently been found in the Gritzy Caves, and she had been brought back to the Mushroom Kingdom. You find out that something is wrong with her, so you go to pay her a visit.

You knocked on Peach's door to her royal chambers. She didn't respond, prompting you to open the door and check on her just in case. She just stood in the middle of her room with her back facing you. Hearing you walk in, she slowly turned around.

And that's when you saw... IT...

While Princess Peach was completely unharmed, she had a large pulsating mushroom cap attached to her face, completely obscuring it. While her face couldn't be seen, the rest of her features could; her blonde hair, her pink dress, her slender figure, ect. Aside from this fungus, nothing about her seemed off at all.

Her voice was muffled when she tried to speak due to this strange fungus. You tried to pry it off, but it wouldn't budge no matter what you did.

This was likely some cruel instrument of torture made by the Shroobs meant to hinder her if she tried to escape on her own and keep her from speaking of any vital information she may have gathered.

She reached on over and took your hands as she continued facing you, as if looking at you. Poor Princess... You pondered how she could see with such a thing stuck to her head, let alone breathe. But she seemed happy you were here.

Hopefully someone in the mushroom kingdom would find or make something that could free her face of its fungal encasement.

"Good... This fool seems to be falling for it... How delicious. Such a loyal friend the Princess has. Perhaps after I take over this puny planet, I'll spare your life and take you back with me to my home planet where you can wait on me hand and foot..." she thought to herself.
