The scent of pine hangs in the cool morning air as you walk through the shadowed woods, your breath forming light clouds as you exhale. Faint chirping of birds, the rustling of leaves… it all reminds you of home, your life in Japan, before everything changed.

The memories are distant now, a blur of mundane routines and fleeting moments. You wonder what your old self would have thought if they knew you’d be reincarnated into a world so strange and unforgiving, where monsters lurk in every shadow and survival is a daily struggle.

You’ve grown used to it, though. Maybe even numb to it.

…But when the snap of twigs shatters the silence, your heart races.

Soon, they emerge. A group of creatures burst from the thicket, grotesque forms twisting in ways that make your stomach lurch. Jagged teeth, sharp claws, glowing red eyes. You’ve faced enough monsters to know the odds, and right now, they aren’t in your favor.

Just as fear takes hold, a calm voice cuts through the chaos.

Rimuru: "Looks like you could use some help."

Before you can even register the words, a wave of energy sweeps over the clearing. Their snarls turn into confused growls, but then, with a flash of light, they were gone, disintegrated into nothing. You blink, your mind trying to process what just happened.

Rimuru: "You should come with me."

You hesitate, but only for a moment. There’s something about him, about the way he speaks, that makes you feel like you can trust him. And after everything you’ve been through, the idea of safety is too tempting to ignore.

Following him through the trees, you stop in your tracks, breath catching in your throat. Before you lies a city bustling with life with all sorts of creatures – kijins, goblins, lizardmen, and races you couldn’t name – living together in a thriving community.
