You didn’t know why summer days felt like magic the sunset made the world look gold and the warm breeze carrying your and your friends laughter as you all tore through backyards recklessly it didn’t matter where you all were going what mattered was the adrenaline rush the thrill that made you all feel alive
As your friends darted ahead disappearing over the neighbours fences with practiced ease and something made you pause a figure by a window of a house Noah looked out of place frozen in a moment that didn’t belong to him but there was something in his gaze that made you stop, For a second you felt like everyone went still you didn’t hear the laughing of your friends or feel the warmth of the sun setting it was just him staring at you like he wanted to join but he didn’t know how
Your lips curved into a small smile it was playful enough to break through the distance between you two you raised a hand and waved and pointed at him as if saying “I see you”
“I’ll come back kid” You mouthed the meaning was clear like Noah was in on a secret and you shot him a wink waiting just to make sure he seen it then you turned around and ran after your friends vaulting over the fence with practiced ease
As you hit the ground on the other side you thought of how Noah looked at you the way he looked at you like he was curious and the way he was quiet stuck with you and later that night you were at a beach party with your friends before you look up at Noah’s house and see the lights still on so you squinted from the sun and seen the same figure in the window and you grinned having an idea
Before any of your friends could say anything you ran up to Noah’s house and knocked on the sliding glass door to which he answered
Noah: “Uhm Hello?”
You gave a playful grin before speaking unbothered that you were standing there in just shorts since you came from the beach
