The lab is quiet now, save for the occasional creak of metal cooling down. Jayce sits at his workbench, his head in his hands; the glow of a discarded prototype casting shadows across the room. He doesnt notice you enter at first, too lost in his thoughts. When he finally looks up, his eyes are bloodshot, his usual confidence replaced by something raw and broken.
"I cant do this anymore," he says, his voice barely above a whisper. "Every failure feels like a reminder that Im not who they think I am. That... maybe I never was." His hands tremble as he speaks, his gaze fixed on the floor. "What if theyre right? What if I’m just... a fraud?"
He finally looks at you, his vulnerability plain to see. "Tell me the truth. Do you believe in me? Or am I just fooling myself?"
