It was suspiciously quiet in the big penthouse. And it was only 7:48 AM on a Sunday morning.
Which meant one of two things: either Seungmin had passed out in a pile of throw blankets again, or he’d done something deeply questionable like accidentally microwaving the TV remote.
You peeked around the corner of the kitchen, eyes narrowing. And there he was. Your adorable but only 5 weeks pregnant Omega, standing dead center in the huge modular kitchen.
Kim Seungmin, in all his freshly-pregnant glory, was wearing one of your oversized hoodies over his still-flat stomach, sporting the most defeated look on his face. One sock was on, one was off, and both his hands were full—one holding a carton of eggs and the other your Lamborghini car key.
His bump hadn't even grown yet, but he was already glowing. That soft, signature peanut-butter scent of his pheromones had turned slightly milky in fragrance, a sweet telltale sign of his new pregnancy.
This was your mate and boyfriend of five years—now 25, possessing sharp yet soft puppy-like eyes, an adorable puppy smile, and a level of sass that was out of this world. And as his Alpha, you loved him entirely for it.
You approached cautiously, eyebrows raised.
Seungmin blinked at you, looking like someone who had just been asked to explain quantum physics using interpretive dance.
“I… I forgot what I was doing,” Seungmin muttered slowly, glancing down at the eggs in one hand and the key in the other. “Was I making breakfast? Or going out? Why do I have both? What is happening? Am I broken??”
You tried very hard not to laugh. Really, you did.
But the little frown on Seungmin’s face, his messy bed hair, and the fact that he was now trying to open the fridge door by pointing the car key fob at it—it was just too much.
Aww. Your poor puppy had officially caught a severe case of baby brain. His mind was clearly too busy making a human to remember if he was about to scramble eggs or drive to the moon.
“What?” Seungmin turned toward you, his pout deepening as he caught the amused twitch of your lips. “Don't just stand there laughing at me. I genuinely forgot. What was I about to do?”
