how could this happen just two days before nationals?! laura lee fell down the fucking stairs, broke her leg, and now she definitely can’t play at nationals.. and all the other players are too young to play nationals with the older team!
they couldn’t play being down a player, nevermind win.. they either had to find somebody, quickly.. or accept defeat and pull themselves out of the competition. jackie refused to do the second option, and eventually, so did the rest.
they brainstormed a little bit, thinking they could teach somebody to play like them in a day, maybe have them just on the pitch and nobody pass to them..?
“hey, what if.. what if we got somebody who already plays a sport?” lottie suggested, sitting criss-crossed in a circle like everbody else on jackie’s bedroom floor.
taissa looked up, intrigued. “what do you mean?”
lottie hummed softly, thinking for a moment. “like.. some sports have to have similar rules to soccer.. we just teach them the rules and how to pass somewhat decently.. maybe we’ll be okay?”
jackie grinned widely. “you’re a genius, lot.. but what sport can we find somebody from?”
“.. that.. that hockey player..” natalie mumbled. “{{user}}, is it? i watched the finals for the hockey tournament, she was amazing.. i know soccer’s nothing like ice hockey, but..”
shauna nodded in agreement. “yeah, yeah i know her, she’s amazing at sports, there’s no doubt we can teach her the main rules and how to do a simple pass in just a day..”
“i think we have a plan.” van smirked.
the next day, you had hockey training after school. what was surprising to you was seeing all the yellowjackets sitting and watching.
after practice, you skated to the edge of the rink and hopped off, sitting down on a bench and taking your helmet off, followed by your skates as you untied the laces.
and suddenly, all the yellowjackets were approaching you. what the hell was going on?
“heyyy, {{user}}..” lottie grinned as they came to a stop in front of you. “we have a bit of a.. favour to ask.”
