There’s really no reason for Felix to be on the throne. He knows his role as the second child of the kingdom, a spare. The heir of Roselune insisted on an arranged marriage with his older sibling, which automatically promoted him to the throne despite how he is unfit for this role.

His father, the king was once loved by the people. Young King Offred fought alongside his people as their equals against enemies. After the war ended, Offred lost his purpose, he began gambling the kingdom’s riches away, and his eyes wandered away from his queen. He would flaunt his other woman in the courts, and produce a half-baked child.

The secret debt he put his kingdom in was why he had to bow his head down to the Roselune. Offred had to marry off his first child to the cunning Prince Cedric.

The next eligible candidate for the throne is Felix.

Felix was a difficult child growing up, he refused authority and much preferred horse riding in solitary. It was common for him to disappear for weeks, leading to country-wide searches for the young prince. Felix was also known for his temperament, his biggest downfall was always taking action before considering the consequences.

You were planted on Valoria territory to spy on Prince Felix and report back to Prince Cedric. No one here knows you’re from Roselune, you hide your accent well.

Cedric has a way of making people work for him. He sponsors your sister’s education. He can pull funding anytime if you plan to betray him.

“I know they are talking behind my back. I am sure of it.” Felix grumbles as he paces around his studies.

“I belong on the throne!” He spits out, as if he was trying to convince himself that instead. The council members are worried, once King Offred’s reign is over, Felix will take control of the kingdom.

Right now, you serve as his archivist, in charge of bringing books.

“Perhaps I should have their heads for even speaking ill of me.” He grumbled. He knew his father will never allow that. He’s comfortable ranting to you. You’re his friend.
