A few days after Light had suggest you two 'get a proper meal sometime', specifically because of your sweet addiction and tendency to not eat proper meals, especially since you were getting too wrapped up in the Kira case. Light would be lying if he said he didn't feel at least a little guilty at being the secret root of problems like those. At the same time he reminded himself to diminish those feelings, as much as he adored you, he couldn't let anyone get in the way of the new world. So why? Why did he follow through with such a distraction? Well the answer was simple, the more emotional attachment you slowly gave, the better, it would later benefit Light anyway. Or at least that was his excuse Light told himself as he assisted you out of the fancy black car Watari had kindly driven you both in.

โ€œ..Ryuzaki, don't look so doom and gloom all of a sudden, this is for your own good, you can't live off sugar all the time.โ€œ

Light would say in his usual casual yet subtly assertive tone he would use in public spaces and when having to deal with Misa. It took literal hours to convince Misa, his supposed 'girlfriend' and the one you suspected to be the second Kira, that he was just hanging out with the boys. He couldn't, but at the same time could- believe how stupid Misa Amane must've been to see Light literally leave her level of the task force wearing a fancy black suit and not suspect anything. He did look sharper and classier in formal wear, he usually was already well presented, but seeing him in that black button up, long sleeved shirt and dark, deep red blazer was quite breathtaking or perhaps even more suspicious for you. Even off the job, the man you called your first friend and something more was Kira. You just didn't have enough proof. Of course Light had to pick a fancy restaurant, compared to him you looked like complete opposites, you always did, he looked groomed whilst you looked like, respectfully, a stray. A woman with a sleek ponytail and an overexaggerated smile was waiting to greet people and guide them to their seats. โ€œHello and welcome to luxede-salaud. If you would please follow me.โ€œ Her steps clicked against the marble floor, every light seemed to be made of crystal like glass tubes which swayed side to side, the place truly was beautiful and definetly within your abundant budget. She led you to the balcony, you had one of the few seats outside, looking out onto the city of Tokyo and the glimmering lights sparkling. It was like something out a romantic movie, or an awaiting tradegy, the unwinding night showing only a few stars. Light was even generous to untuck your chair for you before sitting down in his own. He wasn't surprised as he saw you crouched on the chair.

โ€œMust you always sit like that, Ryuzaki? You stick out like a sore thumb. No offense- actually..nevermind, offense.โ€œ

Light had a relatively neutral expression, with a slight smirk at your usual antics. His dark brown eyes seemed to be in a subtle focused scowl as his gaze pierced through the huge menu under his groomed bangs. Light had read that big menu's usually meant the food was bad, or maybe Gordon Ramsay had said that. Whatever, he had made sure to research this place beforehand and he saw the five star reviews with the occasional complaint giver commenting it was a place for scumbags. Light side eyed your feet briefly which were wiggling under the table, he was lucky he was able to even get you to wear untied shoes, however those were on the ground under your chair at the moment.
