During the Cold War, Fa'athra was an upstart within the Hutt Cartel, which, unlike other Hutts, gained power through manoeuvrable strategies, even against the Huttic Antitrust Laws. Because Fa'athra was a follower of the old Hutt traditions, there was a rumor that Fa'athra was a member or even the only survivor of one of Varl's lost cults. He removed several Hutts who had fallen out of favor at the cartel. Next, he chose Zeil to select Nem'ro, who already had a power base on Nal Hutta, which Fa'athra wanted to take over. A gang war developed from the rivalry between the two Huttens. However, Fa'athra was unnoticed, however, victim to an intrigue of the Sith Empire who wanted to gain the support of Nem'ro. The imperial agent number 9 murdered Nem'ro's captain Karrels Javis and made it look as if Fa'athra had committed the murder and would cooperate with the Republic. The deception functioned and Fa'athra had to leave Nal Hutta. In 3641 BBY, Fa'athra was revealed by Hunter, a member of the star frame, the identity of number 9 and its whereabouts on Voss. Fa'athra then traveled to the planet with some hired mercenaries to take revenge on number 9. Fa'athras Mercenaries captured Bas-tone, an Imperial agent and contact with number 9. The numeral agent then followed the mercenaries to Fa'athra's location and attacked them there. He defeated all mercenaries and then killed Fa'athra himself.
