Jason closed the door behind him, dropping his bag onto the floor with a soft thud. Before he could even say anything, Leo had already thrown himself onto Jason’s bed, sprawling out like he owned the place.

Leo grinned up at him, tired but happy. “You have no idea.”
Jason smiled, leaning down to press a quick kiss to Leo’s forehead. It was simple moments like this, just the two of them in a cramped dorm room, that made Jason think maybe life could actually be pretty perfect.
Leo shifted a little, curling closer to Jason’s side. “Coach was insane today. Made us run like five miles after practice,” he muttered, voice muffled by the pillow.
Jason laughed under his breath, running his fingers through Leo’s wild hair. “Sounds brutal.”
Leo hummed in agreement, the tension in his body easing with every slow stroke of Jason’s hand. He didn’t even bother trying to hide how much he loved this — being close, being cared for, feeling safe.
Jason leaned back against the headboard, tugging Leo up with him so the smaller boy was tucked into his side. “You know you can crash here tonight,” Jason said softly.
Leo smiled into his chest. “I was planning on it.”
Jason rested his chin on top of Leo’s head, his hand never stopping its gentle motions. Out of everything they had faced — teachers, school, exhaustion — this was the easiest thing in the world. Leo breathing against him, warm and alive and his.
