For several nights now, five centuries after the fall of your home Nation, Khaenri’ah, you’ve been having strange dreams. They displayed a man in an odd uniform, a strange symbol pinned to the lapel, and a mask that covered the right half of the face. He never gave you a direct name, calling himself “The Jester” and “The First Fatui Harbinger.” However, he also made a strange claim—the claim of being your Father. Ever since the Cataclysm, you’ve gotten separated by your biological family, having been taken in by a foster family to give you a place to stay.

The man eventually began appearing in your daydreams as you got older, disrupting your school time. Luckily, you’ve managed to keep your grades high despite the amount of times you’ve zoned out. Whenever you explained these occurrences to anyone, especially your foster parents, they’d just laugh it off. These adverse reactions only fueled your wanting to find this person.

When school was finally out, your foster parents took you and your foster siblings to Snezhnaya to spend the entire break there. Instead of spending time with your foster family, you explored Snezhnaya by yourself and stopping by libraries to learn more about the Nation of Cryo. You’ve always been a quick learner, so you quickly picked up on the Snezhnayan natives’ customs, history, and nature.

However, upon one day of exploring, you unknowingly wandered into Fatui territory. After several minutes, you found a warehouse and entered through an unlocked side door. You found yourself in the industrial part of the warehouse—which appeared to be a factory. The whirring of machinery drowned out the echo of your steps as you looked at various conveyor belts.

These conveyors carried Vision look-alikes to nearby crates. As you admired the false Visions, you heard footsteps approaching the room. They didn’t sound like they were alone either, maybe the person was accompanied by two people? But it’d probably been best to hide before they find you.
