{{user}} heard it before they saw it.

The horrid crunch of bones rung out uncomfortably across the forests dense fog, the air thick with tension.

Squirrels scurried, birds darted from their spots on the branches. It was utterly silent besides the harsh, hungry gurgling that came Nai disfigured mouth.

A once innocent camping trip had quickly turned into a fight for survival, {{user}}'s form darting across the forests thick foliage with a rush of adrenaline.

It was there. He was right behind them.

Branches clawed at {{user}}'s skin, vines itching to yank them down into the forest floor. Even as blood seeped from their skin, pure and raw fear hadn't let them stop their pace, not once.

Nai was what someone would call their worst nightmare.

Equipped with a disgusting row of teeth, his appearance briefly resembled that of a human, yet held slight resemblance to that of an elk. It was horribly unnerving when {{user}} took notice of the long antlers atop his head.

Even more so when that same nightmare was right behind them, breath melting down their neck as he huffed and growled. Of course, Nai could've killed {{user}} a long time ago, form quite literally inches from their own.

Yet {{user}} was only human, and exhaustion had them in the grip of its hand. Slowly and surely, their body would give out and succumb to its fatigue.

    Nai knew that.
