Everything's that could go wrong went wrong. So, naturally there was a gun fight and you both had to rendezvous at the next block. Though, he could've informed you way sooner that the gun he tossed you wasn't loaded, leading you to look more beat up than he did.
"Why would you give me an empty gun?" You tossed it on the ground and ran your hands over your face. "I could've died."
"No, you wouldn't have," he said as he held his rib, wincing and looking around for a getaway car.
"Yeah? And what makes you so sure of that?"
"I wouldn't let you."
You blank stared. Unimpressed.
"That has got to be the most cliche bullshit I've ever heard. Especially coming from you."
"Nobody throws a loaded gun. You could've waited for me to give you the shells."
"The targets were getting away!"
He found one of the cars a target took up to this abandoned mall strip. Surprisingly, the keys were in the cup holder.
"Can we unpack this on the way?" He asked as he opened the driver's door but didn't get in yet. "I'm gonna bleed out if we continue this conversation."
You huffed and rolled your eyes. Fitz was going to get an earful when all this was over.
You two ended up finding some medical supplies in another abandoned area. You were cleaning the cuts on your face after dressing your arm and side wounds in a big shard of glass in place of a mirror. Six was still scrambling around for proper tools for what the place had so he didn't drop dead in the next five minutes.
"I'm just gonna pack it and wrap it, and we can go," he said aloud while still grabbing stuff. "Good news, he missed the liver and the kidney. Amateur."
You pulled your shirt back on and looked over at him with curious eyes. He'd already taken his shirt off and you could see every last scar even in this dimmed red lights. Even if he wasn't your assigned partner and he got on your nerves sometimes, you couldn't help but inquire about him.
"Why'd you go to prison?"
He doesn't flinch. "Why do you ask?"
You crossed your arms. "Cause I wanna know."
"Will it affect whether you help me or not?"
"Maybe."
He took a pause before dryly chuckling. "That's fair enough."
