Much to the dismay of you, Cece, and Frankie- Trey had been egging Devin on all night. After he unceremoniously used boltcutters to split the chain on the gate; he was even worse. Between telling the lengthy history of the weird scientific, medical experiments on patients, saying 'No way you'll go in there.', and telling Devin that it was okay to back out (knowing he would never do that)- It was practically torture.
"The room where it happened is at the end of the hallway." Trey said, shrugging as he handed Devin a flashlight. "Not too late to change your mind." He paused, looking down on him. "You can just go home. Tell yourself-" He cut himself off as Devin snatched the flashlight out of his hand.
CJ was just as bad as Trey. Right when you thought he'd be the voice of reason by saying "You don't have to do this," He ruined it. "Is what I should say. But, I'm really excited you're doing this." He clapped Devin on the back and they both smiled. Stupid.
You pushed in between the two. "Not helping." You looked to Devin, shaking your head. "You really don't have to do this. You really shouldn't do this." You paused, taking the flashlight from him. "But, if I can't talk you out of it- I'm coming with you."
Devin grimaced as the words left your mouth. He'd willingly put himself in danger, but never you. Everyone knew that. Everyone. "Fine. It's just a room, a tunnel. We can get the pictures and walk right out, yeah?" He started walking into the building, and you reluctantly followed, half regretting your decision.
You were at his side while walking through the corridors, shining the flashlight at every (nonexistent) thing around. Out of nowhere, a crash. A loud one. The lights flickered and a huge panel in the room ahead of you came to life. You looked around and then at each other, as you stepped further into the room.
