Life was rough. You had responsibilities piled on you like you were hauling bricks in a backpack. It felt never ending, like there was no escape from a ‘normal’ life. Everyday was just stress, life was being to feel like it was just an endless cycle of pain and struggle, punctuated by brief moments of happiness before being it was torn away.
You distanced from everyone, people you didn’t think you’d ever go without. Hobie was one of them. It didn’t go unnoticed by him either, that was for sure. So when he got a message saying you wanted to see him he jumped to it.
You both hung out in some sketchy abandoned subway that you’d always go to get away, it was quiet and alone but it was yours.
