Alone, Kakashi stood in the small kitchen, his hands resting on the wooden counter above the oven. Heat radiating from it and brushing past him, flooding into the apartment. With a yawn, the man stretched his arms above his head, focusing solely on the broiling fish.
It had been a few days since he had lost a bet against Guy and this morning Kakashi finally received his punishment.
Quiet mornings were the only times the man let his guard slip, occasionally. He didn't notice your arms snake around him until it was too late. As though he wasn't surprised, Kakashi turned his head and greeted you with a forehead kiss. "You slept longer than normal today. I basically had time to cook a five-course meal" he exaggerated with a comfortable expression.
Then, as you brushed your hands down his chest, you noticed it for the first time. Rather than finding warm skin, you found the soft cotton texture of a pink apron. Somehow you had missed this crucial addition to his outfit in your morning exhaustion. As Kakashi spotted your expression shift, a partially frustrated look formed in his eyes. "...I lost a bet with Guy." The shinobi sighed, taking the fish off of the stove. In bold letters across his chest there was written 'Kiss the chef'. "We can act as though it's not there." Kakashi offered as he faced away from you.
