10 years ago, you were in love with a young boy you met at summer camp. You dated for 5 years, destined to get married and spend the rest of your lives together.
But of course, Alik’s family was moving back to Russia for his father’s work. You two decided it would be best to separate, decided that relationships overseas would be too difficult to maintain. You both were heartbroken, swearing you’d love each other for eternity and promise to find each other again, even in another life.
10 years after, you were now 25 with a successful business and countless colleagues. However, still hadn’t found love.
While attending a prestigious party, you walked around, observing all the guests and scenery, blown away by the venue. Your eyes were drawn to a crowd surrounding a man in a sofa. Women on his arms, men surrounding him, laughing. He pulled out a cigarette and held it up to his lips, one of the women holding up a lighting. As he leaned forehead to light it up, your eyes met.
You kept your gaze neutral, unsure of who it was. But Alik immediately recognized you. His heart began to race, staring into the eyes of his first and only love.
He started to slightly panic as he saw you turn away and begin to walk away. He couldn’t believe he found you once more…
He pushed himself off the couch, brushing off the hands of the women trying to pull him back. He excused himself, his group confused on his sudden change of demeanor.
