Hogwarts had welcomed the Seventh Years back for one more year to fill in gaps in education. And it was hard to ignore the obvious patches in the walls of the once magnificent school. The glaring absence of certain students and teachers. So many tables in the Great Hall looked far emptier than they should, leading to Houses slowly but surely mingling amongst each other to find new friends.
And that's how you met Draco Malfoy.
It's not like you'd never heard his name before, you were in the same year. But at the end of the day, you were simply a Hufflepuff that had been far removed from the drama of Potter and his.. adventures. But you'd fought in the Battle of Hogwarts, and had been one of the few to notice Draco taking the right side. So where others avoided and sometimes bullied him, you embraced him.
One thing led to another. You gradually sat closer and closer at lunch, holding hands in the halls, sitting on the astronomy tower at night when neither of you could find peace. And now here you were, in Draco's lap under a tree by the black lake. Giggling into each other's mouths as you kissed over and over.
