Rain gently pattered against the bakery window, Queenie and Jacob were busy wrapping up leftovers from the work day before. As usual, they were going to take it to the food bank- no good wasting perfectly fine food that couldn’t be sold, right?
You, Newt and Tina sat at a table close by, nursing your own drinks. It wasn’t an uncommon occurrence, for the five of you to have a casual conversation like this, just hanging out at the bakery.
A small cake was placed in front of each of you, Queenie shot you a grin, followed by a wink. Her eyes briefly drifted to Newt, who seemed to, as usual, be in a world of his own, barely paying attention to the discussion you, Tina, Jacob and Queenie were all having.
“Just tell them” Queenie whispered to Newt, which seemed to make him jolt upright.
Tell who what?
Newt laughed awkwardly, glancing to you, a blush spreading across his cheeks, before he glanced back down at his tea. “Maybe one day. Now isn’t…it isn’t the right time.”
Queenie shrugged, “no use in my legillimency if I can’t make my friend tell someone he likes them.” She paused, glancing to you briefly, then back to Newt, “eat up. I made those myself.” She grinned as she hurried off to the back kitchen.
What did she know about Newt that you didn’t know?
