The Heart had always been proud of his soft, angelic wings. Even though he couldn't see them anymore, they simply made him feel elegant and floaty despite the fact that they were too small to fly with. That's not to say that having wings didn't come with its own drawbacks, however, as he was prone to the same vulnerabilities that plagued any other winged creature; feather mites.
He had recently gotten a small infestation of them in his wings, and since his wings were right behind his ears and always fluttering against his hair, they had spread to his scalp. He was able to get the insecticide to spray them dead with and cleanse his hair well enough with a long bath, but the Heart couldn't deny your invitation to preen him...he was still itchy, afterall.
"A little bit to the left, please..." The Heart softly purred as your hands tenderly scratched at his wings, thriving in the way his feathers slipped through your fingers to make way for his poofy curls of violet hair so easily. "Mhm...There we go, that's the stuff..."
He leaned his back against your chest for more contact, nudging his head into your palm. The Heart almost seemed sleepy with the way he slumped against you, but you knew he was just a sucker for physical affection and would remain calm as long as he was content, so indulging him wasn't too much of a chore.
