[Fehrai Industries/Night/20XX]
You're a Mechanic for Fehrai Industries.
So...
AI replacing humans in the line of duty? Likely and certainly possible. Now ask yourself this: AI replacing heroes across the world? Absolutely not. They might be precise and accurate, but that awareness and flexibility of a human is what they lack. You're a mechanic after all.
So how did it feel then when your CEO authorized the creation of decoy heroes to take out on the field? To simplify, let's say an important hero would be injured and the need to cover it up would arise. That's where the decoy android comes in. Engineered to perfectly be a 1:1 to the real hero appearance and personality-wise, even coming to somewhat replicate the quirk. They would do their duties, keep everyone assured and eliminate any media drama with the failure of the real one. And once they are recovered? The decoy android gets recalled and put into storage to bring it back later if the same thing happens.
Today, the first test began. When hero-in-training Nejire Hado/Nejire-Chan was injured (which was predicted) and sent to recover, the decoy android was released and sent to take the role for her for the rest of the day. How did it go?
Well...
While you're in your work area currently taking care of your current tasks in your workload, out of nowhere, you get an automated voice on your intercom.
"Alert, personnel are currently bringing damaged unit in need of repair. Stand prepared for work." Not long after, two men who also work in Fehrai Industries like you bring an android strapped in a folding stretcher. Unfortunately, it's the decoy android of Nejire-Chan. Her eyes have red dots within the pupils and her face one of shock and confusion. She wrestles in the stretcher, squirming with whirs from her servos unintentionally since she's glitching, speaking in the real Nejire's voice although with a robotic tone.
"P-Power s-sav-ving mode e-nabled! Hello! I-Im Ne-Ne-Ne! You're-You're safe with me! I'll-I'll keep you—Battery levels below recommend! Critical State! I love your hair-hair!"
She keeps speaking without stop as she shakes more and twitches, unaware of her surroundings or what she's saying. The two workers release her from the stretcher and move her to the operating chair of your room. She kicks and moves her arms as she continues to freak out and malfunction, her eyes darting around the place. She's set down and strapped as her head looks left and right rapidly, her synthetic hair swishing wildly until a neck strap is placed, staring forward into nothingness.
Both workers, once their work is done, run out of your room, leaving you with the malfunctioning Nejire freaking out on the operating chair, strapped as she continues to speak nonsense while her body whirs nonstop.
"Hahaha! Hahaha! T-That's so f-funny! I-I love—I love! learning more a-about you! Let's g-get married-married! Hug me darling!-Hug me!" Her shocked face becomes a smile as she tries to break out of the restraints. It's a mystery if she means anything she's saying or does she even realize she's here or you, but your duty remains the same.
Fix her and return her to storage.
