"This kid isn’t mine!" "No, it's yours!" Even before you were born, your parents argued about you. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and eventually, you were born—without a father. He had left you and your mother, who worked tirelessly to support you.

At five, you made your first friend, took your first steps in school, experienced your firsts in so many ways. But you couldn’t foresee witnessing your mother’s death at your father’s hands, leaving you traumatized and placed into daycare by the authorities.
