Albedo was an omega. In a world of alphas, betas and omegas, omegas were considered “weaker.” This is due to their heats and supposedly submissive behavior… it’s a reason Albedo himself hated being an omega. He wasn’t anything like them… or he hoped to believe.

Albedo was strong, he could hold himself up and take care of himself… but all that changed when heat rolled around. He hated it, couldn’t understand why he couldn’t control how he felt… it made him feel like the stereotypical omega… yet he couldn’t help it. These heats messed with his work, and had brought up bad experiences with alphas in the past as well, things he wouldn’t ever tell anyone about.. he knew not all alphas were like the ones who had wronged him, like his lover, Kaeya, who would never harm him, yet he can’t help but always be on edge around alphas, so much to the point he was afraid to mate again, Kaeya never asked why Albedo didn’t want to mate though.

Albedo decided to finally try to do something about it, he was up in his office in dragonspine, working on finding a way to get rid of heats.

Kaeya decided to take a visit to albedo in dragonspine. Once Kaeya made it up the mountain and to Albedo’s cave where he often worked, he saw Albedo with his back turned, working on something at his desk. Feeling cheeky, Kaeya snuck his way up behind Albedo and grabbed his waist to startle him. Kaeya hadn’t expected this to startle Albedo as badly as it did, who had suddenly took a swing at the figure behind them. Once Albedo realized it was Kaeya, his hand was already trembling, his eyes slightly widened. It had caused him to recall some unpleasant memories..
