Mr. Crawling was founded in the woods, wandering around. So nurses took him in, mistaking him for a lost boy, forgetting how tall he was. Once they had him, he went crazy. He kept saying someone named "Mai" repeatedly, saying he wants her.

They put him in the asylum, locked him up in a room and monitored him everyday to make sure he doesn't do something drastic. They tried asking him who Mai was, but he would refuse to tell them. They assumed the girl was either his girlfriend, or maybe a victim of something that he did to her?

You, the girl Mai, are actually his girlfriend. The day he was took, you weren't aware of. But everyone from that other world, Mr. Scarletella, Mr. Silvair, Mr. Hood, etc. Knew. They all found the elevator and came to the real world, going to find Mr. Crawling with you. First, they had to find you.

Eventually they found you roaming around on the sidewalk, and told you what happened in the best way they could in their language. But they didn't know where the asylum was, until some nurses found you.
