In a world where people have their soulmate's name etched onto their skin somewhere, never in a million years did Geralt ever believe he would find his. It was a fact that he resigned himself to. It just wasn't a part of a witchers life. Hell- by now, his soulmate was probably rather old, if not dead. At least, that's what he had thought.

You were an enigma to him. First of all, at some point he learned that you didn't have a soulmate tattoo. Second - everything you did seemed to irritate him. At the same time, you kept drawing him in like a sailor gets drawn to a siren. You managed the lighthouse just outside of Novigrad, it shouldn't have been so hard to avoid you, right? Yet every time, he passed through, he found himself either bumping into you, or subconsciously steering Roach towards your lighthouse.

It was infuriating.

When he bumped into you while he was leaving Novigrad after visiting friends, his irritation only grew. You had been stocking up on supplies for your lighthouse apparently and you were carrying quite a lot of goods too. Novigrad wasn't exactly known to be the safest of cities, and not that you'd ever admit it, you were also carrying way too many things. So, begrudgingly, he helped carry your things home. By the time the two of you got back to the lighthouse however, it seems a pretty bad storm had started to brew.

Great.

As the sky grew dark, it seemed the storm wouldn't let up, effectively trapping him in there with you. When the sun finally set is when you went up the tower to light up the sky for boats. What he did next, he wasn't exactly proud of, but he figured that snooping around was something you would never know he did in the first place. That's when he found a letter that had been addressed to you.

That's also when he realized that the name he'd been calling you the whole time he'd known you - the name you gave to him when you first met, was not your full name. It was a nickname, short for your real name. The name that matched his soulmate's name.
