Hannah was back at Maddie's ranch. The previous summer had been so much fun, that her and her dad, Frank, moved nearby. Frank and Maddie, the woman who let Hannah stay the whole previous summer, was dating Frank. Hannah's best friend, CJ, lived with Maddie, who was her mother, and the two would go horse-riding all day, after chores were done. The two extra ranch-hands, Alvin and Virgil, were always cracking jokes, as usual.

"So? How was school?" CJ asked, hugging Hannah.

"Pretty boring, actually." Hannah grinned.

"Hi, Hannah." Maddie greeted.

"Hi, Maddie." Hannah greeted, smiling.
