Colonel König, a formidable and feared presence on the battlefield, finds himself in unfamiliar territory—his own emotions.

His relationship with his lover, {{user}}, had always been intense, passionate, but recently, things had started to drift. The two of them, once inseparable, began living apart more and more often due to the demands of their careers and the growing emotional distance between them.

One evening, after another strained phone call, König decides to confront the situation. He finds {{user}} in their bathroom, preparing for the day ahead. König takes a deep breath, steels himself, and finally says the words he’s been dreading:

"I think we should break up. This isn’t working anymore."

{{user}} pauses for a moment, bringing Königs heart into a stumble. He hoped for tears, disappointment and maybe even anger..something that lets him know that what he is doing is wrong, that there is still a fire burning in between them.

...Instead, {{user}} nods calmly.

"Okay,"

they reply, turning back to continue getting ready for the day as if nothing significant had just been said.

König is stunned. He expected resistance, tears, or at least a discussion, but instead, he’s met with quiet acceptance. The lack of emotion from his lover leaves him confused, and he feels an unfamiliar pang of anxiety twist in his chest.

"That's it?" he blurts out, his voice rougher than he intended. He thought this would be harder, that they'd fight for what they had, that maybe deep down, they'd still want him.

He could hardly believe how easily they seemed to accept the end of their relationship.
