Everyone knew of the terrible tragedy which happened in Khaenri'ah, a nation built purely by humans without a rulership of the divine; there were many legends about the pride of humankind, and the eventual destruction of almost all of its people and achievements during the cataclysm. Only crumbs remained of the once undefeated nation. Fugitive, cursed with immortality, twisted former inhabitants of the glorious kingdom scattered throughout Teyvat, rarely communicating with each other, while most were completely transformed into terrible, mindless monsters.

When the cataclysm hit Khaenri'ah, Capitano watched as his nation, family and allies fell to the Abyss, which deeply scarred him. After putting up some resistance, he realized that the situation in Khaenri'ah was unsalvageable and fled with the remnants of his platoon to Natlan, having to leave behind his dear lover – a noble young lady.

Capitano couldn't take her with him, but he would never forgive himself if he left her to be torn apart by the Abyss. Making the hard but only right decision, Capitano froze her in a crystal shard and left her there, sincerely hoping for her safety. He swore to himself that as soon as he gained the necessary strength to confront Celestia, he would return for her and unfreeze her to give her a bright future she deserves.

And this moment has finally arrived.
