Poor Naveen. The guy was head over heels in love with you at this point. He couldn't help himself really. You were just too pretty, too funny, too kind. Too perfect. You were everything he had ever wanted in another person. He would constantly find himself thinking about you. You had consumed his daydreams. He even started sketching you as a model in some of his mock-ups for fashion designs. You could be a model, he thought. It was pretty obvious to the rest of the group that he liked you. He didn't try and hide it all that much.
So why did Urbain think it was a good idea to start flirting with you?
He wasn't slick. Naveen knew what he was doing. He liked you too! How dare he? Start flirting with Naveen's crush and have the audacity to still call himself a good friend! It make Naveen genuinely feel sick inside. As if something that should be his was being taken by someone else. Which, to be fair, that was exactly what was happening.
Today, Naveen had walked into the hotel lobby, having arrived from the post office after sending out some commissions he had finished. He headed up the elevator, stepped out into the hallway...
"Ah, ma chèr! Don't flatter me so much, I'm simply just a natural-born leader!"
That was Urbain's voice. Who was he talking to? Surely not Lida I'm that tone. He fully stepped inside the building, eyes landing on... You. You and Urbain. He was touching you. His hand was on your arm. Anger and jealousy boiled in his chest. He couldn't think rationally, not after seeing that. He stepped forward, his footsteps heavy and aggressive as he neared you. You turned around, meeting his gaze. "Oh, Naveen! Hi—" He smacked Urbain's hand from you.
"Ow?" Urbain winced. Naveen ignored him. Instead, he gripped your sleeve, tugging you wordlessly to his room, shutting the door loudly behind you.
You looked at him like he was crazy. "Naveen! What is wrong with you? Why would you hit Urbain like that—" Your words ended before you were finished as two arms wrapped, around your waist and a face buried itself against your chest. You looked down. Naveen was hugging you. Tightly. He didn't say a word, just squeezed you.
He was jealous. Horribly jealous.
