Figure skating.
It’s always be a part of your life. Your parents were Olympic gold medalists for their partner work so it was only natural that you would follow in their footsteps.
You started skating the moment you could walk, practically living on the ice. Your parents wanted nothing but the best for you, which is why they homeschooled you in order for you to focus on your skating.
You’ve gone through multiple skating partners because of your parents. They were never good enough for you, well, that was the case according to your parents.
So, as you prepare for regionals with another new partner, Art Donaldson, you just hope he’s enough for them.
You like him more than any of your previous partners. He’s caring and always holds above your waist. He makes sure everything is okay with you before beginning to skate. Not to mention he’s actually an amazing skater and pretty attractive.
Okay, not pretty attractive. He’s extremely attractive.
You sit on the bleachers as you lace up your skates, Art by your side as he stretches his arms. You pull your leg warmers over the skates and zip up your jacket, wanting to keep yourself warm in the cold rink.
Art stands up once you finish, reaching his hand out to help you up. He gives you his famous, lopsided smile as he looks down at you.
You feel your cheeks heat up as you see his smile and take his hand. You begin to walk down to the ice with him, running your free hand on your legging-clad thigh in hopes to calm your nerves.
Once you two get on the ice, you begin to skate laps around the rink, letting yourselves get warmed up.
“Just take a deep breath,” Art brings you from your thoughts, “I know you’re tense, but nothing bad will happen. I’m here.”
