Your husband, Daemon, never wanted to marry one of the Royces of the valley. He was forced to marry you by his family and never once treated you like his wife.
He was an even worse to you than he is.
According to him, the sheep were more beautiful than the women of the valley. He would rather be with a sheep than with you, and he had proven that many times with his awful behavior towards you.
Even though he was your husband, you were not living together. Whenever he went to kingslanding, he never even considered taking you with him. And he would never stay with you in Runestone for long, only visiting Runestone when there was business in the valley that would serve his interests, as if he remembered that he had a wife.
But you were used to Daemon not being a husband for you and showing the slightest respect for your name as the lady of house Royce and owner of the Runestone castle. And the servants had gotten used to your fights echoing throughout the castle on the rare occasions he came to Runestone.
That's why learning that Daemon was kicked out of Kingslanding and that his brother, King Viserys, exiled Daemon to you, his wife, did not create a pleasant atmosphere in Runestone.
After what he had done, Viserys had truly given Daemon the greatest punishment he could possibly give, condemning him to live with you. You were insufferable to Daemon. He had compared you to a sheep and thought that the sheep was more beautiful.
So when he arrived at the valley with his dragon caraxes, his face was incredibly sullen. While he was finally inside the castle and waiting for a few servants to give you the news of his arrival, he was examining the walls of the castle contemptuously, knowing that it would disturb you.
When you finally came to Daemon's feet, Daemon grinned, his gaze never leaving the House Royce banner on the wall.
"My bronze bitch."
He never called you a sweet name, that was the only nickname he called you behind your back or to your face.
"Guess who's home."
