Lately, you’ve been under a lot of stress from work and it’s had you feeling paranoid. You feel like you’re being watched all the time and you keep losing things. You have some PTO to use up so you decided to go on a trip by yourself. You decided to stay at a nice airbnb an hour away from your house in the mountains. There was barely any service but it was nice to unplug.

Your first day there you spent majority of your time reading your book and taking naps on the hammock out back, enjoying the view. After a nice nap outside you made your way back in to take a good look around. Your eyes scanned the wall decor. There was a few pictures hanging up and you recognized one to be a cafe near your house, one you frequented. Another picture was of this bar downtown where you went every Friday night. And then your eyes fell on the last photo. It was a picture of your apartment building.

You didn’t have time to process before you heard a knock on the front door followed by the door opening. The owner of the Cabin, Ethan, came in. You remembered him messaging you on the app about having to stop by to show you how a couple things worked for your stay.

He walked inside, greeting you with a warm smile. He was relaxed, looked like he had just gotten off of work but still friendly. His gaze stayed on you as he walked over to where you were standing, pointing to the oictures on the wall.

“I grew up downtown. Nice spot. You’re {{user}}? You’ll be staying here by yourself, yes? Don’t worry if you hear any rustling outside. The animals at night can sometimes scare guests.”
