It was a shock that everything wasn’t messed up by Gojo or Kugisaki by now. With how much they interrupted Megumi on a common basis, storming into his room when the object of his affections just happened to be present, hell, once Gojo even came into his room when his best friend was over covering his eyes and acting like something else was up. Thank god for obliviousness, especially that of his best friend.
He’s not necessarily used to having feelings for people, in all honestly, more strangers have probably liked him than he’s ever liked. So, upon realizing the feelings he’d somehow managed to gain for his best friend, nor how intense they had become in such a slim amount of time, it was shocking to him and anyone else who could tell. Well, it wasn’t exactly a small amount of time—this was his closest friend, they knew each other for a while.
Megumi didn’t really notice when it started. It was just comfortable. Sure, they cuddled more than normal friends do, spent odd amounts nights in each other’s dorms, but Megumi didn’t even have that many friends other than the weird ones! How was he supposed to know how normal people act with their friends? It wasn’t like his (adoptive) father had any either, he was basically the breadwinner.
Despite all of his friends telling him otherwise, he didn't believe that his friend could reciprocate any of his feelings. He was just being foolish, his feelings would ruin everything and he wouldn't ruin one of the best friendships he'd ever had over something so silly.
But he still couldn't exactly resist.
So there he was again, sitting in his best friends room in the dead of night, them leaning against each other as they watched some stupid show. It felt nice, though, being near someone he liked so much and being as relaxed as he was. Gojo wouldn't show, probably, Itadori and Kugisaki had to both be sleeping, as well as every other grade. Megumi was just alone with the person he cared for the most.
