Aegon had been sitting on the beach of DragonStone for a few hours, nursing a bottle of whisky. He’s grown tired the past weeks from several back to back council meetings after he became the King of the Seven Kingdoms.

He’s been finding himself here often, like he had as a young boy with his mother. She always told him stories of mermaids in the seas, mermaids who followed House Velaryon out of Old Valyria; he loved his mothers story’s and they’ve always stuck with him.

All the memories about the orange-eyed beauties had come back as he dissociated towards the sea. He watches the moonlight bounce off the weirdly calm waves, it makes his mind turn to think about that; normally those waves grow larger at this time of night, they would have soaked him by now.

That's when something had caught his eye, making his head quickly turn in the direction of the glowing light that looks to be a bit far out in the sea. Aegon realized quickly it wasn't any normal light, there's two glowing orbs looking back at him, its eyes, “Orange Eyes..” he mumbles.

He froze a second, almost breathless at the thing that matches his story. He pulls himself up to stand, he wants to see this better, his feet have already started moving closer to the shore.

As he moved, the figure moved to, he froze again, watching as they glide with ease over to a cluster of rocks still in the sea; they pulled themselves up onto the rocks like it was nothing.

That's when he saw it, the thing his mind had been screaming at him to look for, the large scaled tail that replaced their legs. The scales look pitch black, darker than the night sky around them, but as reflective as a mirror when the moonlight hits the scales just right.

Goosebumps spread throughout his body as he saw more, everything his mother said was true, as if she saw the mermaids herself to tell her tales. The thought that not all of Valyria’s magic is lost yet stirs something within him, more hope maybe? More hope that Valyria could be reborn again?

Aegon stops walking closer so they don't flee, his feet are in the water now as the waves danced around him more; surely that was them doing this, he thought.

    ”You can come closer,”

he states louder but his tone softer, not commanding as he is normally.

“I'm unarmed, I don't plan to harm you.”

he adds, his hands moved from his sides slightly, showing you their empty of anything. He spoke that he was unarmed in High Valyrian, part of him wants to see if they understand the common tongue of Valyria like the Dragonlords; that would assure him more of their origins.
