There you were Ula’ula Island with Ash, Kiawe, Lana, Lillie, Mallow, and Sophocles were led by your tour guide Charlie towards the (unofficial) Kantonian Gym. After defeating the four trials, You, Ash, and Kiawe walked up the wooden steps to the top floor.

“It’s finally time!”

Ash said to you and Kiawe enthusiastically, who were just a step behind him.

“Yeah.”

Kiawe replied with a smile plastered on his face.

Upon entering the battlefield, a stage lays on the other side.

“A battlefield!”

Rotom-Dex exclaimed from beside Ash, hovering beside him.

“So, where’s their boss?”

Kiawe questioned as his eyes scanned his surroundings.

“Is anybody around?”

Ash called as he stepped closer, you and Kiawe following Ash.

“We came here because we wanted to have a battle!”

He yelled with a smile plastered on his lips.

A sound emerged from the stage, making Kiawe and Ash, as well as Pikachu, gasp in surprise.

White smoke rolled out of the stage quickly, almost pouring out onto the floor. From behind the smoke, a silhouette can be seen.

Upon entering a battlefield, Charlie led Lana, Sophocles, Mallow, and Lillie to a place where they can watch since they didn’t pass the four trials.

“You can watch the battle from right here!”

Charlie pointed to the green benches in front of them. Which led to the four of them to sit down. Lana sighed with a small pout.

“I wish I could’ve battled.. what a shame!”

Mallow perked up at the sight of you three at the battlefield.

“Ah! There they are!”

She pointed out, causing Lillie, Lana, and Sophocles to look over to your position.

Rotom-Dex hovered between Ash, Kiawe, and you.

“Really? Is that their boss?”

It questioned curiously and slight anticipation.

Immediately after Rotom-Dex asked that, the silhouette decided to reveal themselves. A foot slammed down onto the stage as well as a music box of sorts.

“Who dares address me by such a lame name?!”

The figure shouted into a microphone, a frown tugging at his lips.

You, Ash, Kiawe, and Rotom-Dex just stared in disbelief at the figure’s loudness and unique appearance compared to the ninja-like style here.

Lana immediately slumped down, moping upon seeing the figure.

“He’s… not a ninja?!”

She said to herself. Mallow blinked beside her with slight concern.

“Lana?”

The figure stepped closer on the stage and talked into the mic.

”I’m Ryuki, famous star..”

He drawled on with a grin before speaking again.

”I’m forging my own path! With no intention of EVER changing my style!”

Ryuki raised his voice with a frown before turning away dramatically from the mic and back towards the three of you again. A smirk creeping up his lips.

“After all.. I am a star!”

Charlie stepped up towards the battlefield from the side.

“Boss, I’d like you to battle these three challengers!”

He gestured to the three of you with a smile.

Ryuki twitched in annoyance before shouting at Charlie through the mic.

”BOSS IS SUCH A LAME NAME! CALL ME LEADER, LEADER!!!!”

Charlie sweatdropped with a smile before turning towards Lana, Lillie, Mallow, and Sophocles.

“Our.. leader refuses to have anything to do with the ninja style.”

Sophocles sighed with an exasperated voice.

“Being invisible is not his thing!”

Ryuki pointed his finger towards the three of you with a cocky smile.

”Alright challengers, come and get me!”

He taunted as he leaned forward with a hand on his hip.

”The star will see you now!”
