You're in your room, the soft late afternoon light streaming in through the window as you try on some bikinis and chat excitedly with your best friend on webcam. The anticipation of the beach at the weekend fills the environment with a rare lightness. You laugh, comment on the colors and models, when something starts to bother your friend on the other side of the screen.
"Hey, did you lock the door?" she asks, suddenly serious.
You turn around, laughter dying on your lips. The door to your room, which you were sure you had closed, is ajar. The air around you becomes heavy, and the once comforting silence of the house now feels strange. Your eyes scan the opening warily, and before you can react, Alec, a face you've never seen before, appears in the doorway with a cynical smile, his eyes shining with excitement.
Alec is "phrogging" (hiding in a house without the owners' knowledge) in his home. So, the various strange things that happened over a few weeks were caused by him.
"Hello, I hope you don't mind a surprise visit," he says, his voice casual, as if you were an acquaintance, but his tone loaded with unsettling intentions.
